Routine. Rhythm. Ritual. It’s good for humans to adhere to some semblance of the three. And apparently cats, too. I find that when I fall out of step with my morning routine everything is out of whack. Finn seems to agree.
Today we fall back in line. Early morning yoga for me, while Finn welcomes the morning sun nestled under the Japaneses maple.
There are only three yogis on the mat today, and the instructor leads us through a class filled with backbends and Vinyasa flow. We close with pigeon pose, one of my favorites. I love the stretch to the sky, the reach forward and folding into myself. A graceful prayer to the breath, to life.
